Job Summary This position will assThis position will assist This position will assist the Dental Hygiene Department Director and Administrative Assistant in the day-to-day operations of the department programs and the dental hygiene clinic. Also, the position may work directly with faculty members in the department.

Responsibilities Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.

Assists with duties related to the operation of a dental hygiene clinic which services around 1,000 patients annually.

Is exposed to confidential patient / student records and must comply with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines and must conduct work duties in a professional manner. Patient service assignments require exposure to confidential patient and / or student records.

Provides support for the Director and Administrative Assistant as related to accreditation preparation.

Assists with the organization of department events / activities.

Assists with organization of dental equipment records and infection control records.

Assists with supplies for the clinic, classrooms, or labs.

Assists with records management.

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled at Georgia Highlands College
• Must be Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)
• Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
• Must have an unmet need based on total cost of attendance of student

Proposed Salary

$12.00 per hour

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge and ability to operate Microsoft office

Critical thinking, decision making, problem solving within area of responsibility

Understanding of customer service with experience

Ability to follow specific directions

Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately

Ability to work independently on a task and utilize appropriate critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving within area of responsibility
