Hamilton Porter is proud to team up with one of the Largest Global Shipping Giants in the Industry. We are looking to hire a full time, salary paid Asset Manager, to handle Equipment Shift Management and General Maintenance needs.

Location : Onsite x5 days Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm in San Pedro, CA

Responsibilities

  • Supervise multiple teams in all areas of maintenance operations, with the focus being the maintenance and repair of selected equipment being completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervise and direct of a safe and clean working environment through the adherence to OSHA, hazardous, safety procedures and perform frequent inspections of all equipment.
  • Ensure the safety of all technicians working within their team, leading by example in their own behaviors and practices while ensuring they have all the necessary skills and competencies required to perform their normal duties and develop when necessary.
  • Support the disciplinary process when needed, including contributing to investigations into personnel who are not carrying out assigned work properly or safely and recommending training or disciplinary action, as necessary.
  • Manage real-time troubleshooting and repair of critical equipment; effectively communicate equipment status with the operations team and work together to develop operational contingencies as necessary.
  • Evaluating shift reports, extracting highlights and lowlights for planned work and findings and taking the required steps accordingly including escalation to OEM for critical findings
  • Ensure all equipment under their responsibility is maintained in accordance with local legislation and standards
  • Accountable for ensuring the integrity of all equipment under their ownership, considering the and service of equipment, through development and execution of appropriate preventive, predictive and inspection activities safely with the aim of reducing risks to as low as reasonably possible
  • Lead the continuous review and improvement of equipment maintenance strategies for equipment under their ownership, considering major and repetitive equipment failures
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for parts and material.
  • Ensure KPIs for equipment availability, reliability, cost etc. are met with equipment under their responsibility
  • Perform data analysis to support short-term and long-term strategy. As well as performing data and onsite quality inspections supervising any activities when needed
  • Manage a risk-based approach to pending corrective maintenance, considering the compounded risk to safety and operation through multiple failures or defects
  • Manage contracts for outsourcing services or specialist activities as required
  • Review and approve financial expenditures and requisitions. Review and approve invoices for payment. Schedule, assign, and approve all work hours, including overtime.
  • Budgets and capture true cost of maintenance by equipment numbers including 100% of parts and labor for each work order.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in related field or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • 5 + years of leadership experience handling operations, data analysis, asset management, and operational M&R
  • Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering experience strongly .
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Exhibit safety culture and values.
  • Ability to set operational plans with short-term impact by maintaining standards that lead to high performance and execution.
  • Ability to modify important changes rapidly
  • Able to manage peers, contractors, and union labor using excellent communication and follow-up skills.
  • Broad knowledge in Asset management discipline.
  • Knowledge of Union labor Collective Bargaining Agreements and Safety contract.
  • Prior experience using CMMS or other computer-based maintenance system.
  • Knowledge or prior experience with Lean methodology, RCFA, KAIZEN, Problem solving and data analysis.
