Responsibilities :

• The Med / Surg Director of Nursing oversees nursing operations within medical and surgical unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, managing budgets, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. This role involves strategic planning, policy implementation, staff development, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The director also fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manages daily activities, staffing, and overall function of the medical-surgical unit(s).
• Ensures high-quality, patient-centered care, adhering to established standards and promoting evidence-based practices.
• Participates in developing and implementing short and long-range plans to achieve facility objectives.
• Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and managing nursing staff, including performance management.
• Develops, implements, and updates policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective nursing practice.
• Utilizes data and benchmarks to monitor quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance patient care.
• Ensures adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
• Works with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, to coordinate patient care and resolve issues.
• Provides mentorship and support for nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications :

Active Kentucky Registered Nurse Licensure

BLS and ACLS Certification

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in nursing preferred.

Supervisory management experience required.
