POSITION SUMMARY : The Materials Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of materials planning, inventory control, and picking teams to ensure timely and accurate material availability for production within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient material flow, minimizing inventory discrepancies, and supporting production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Supervise and mentor a team of planning, production control, and inventory staff.
• Oversee daily operations related to material planning, inventory accuracy, and order picking.
• Ensure timely and accurate issuance of materials to production based on work orders and schedules.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align material availability with demand.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
• Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPls) related to inventory accuracy, material availability, and team productivity.
• Implement and maintain Kanban, MRP, or other material replenishment systems.
• Review and validate BOM structures and routers : initiate ECRs / ECOs when necessary.
• Lead cycle counts, root cause analysis of variances, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Train and mentor team members to improve departmental efficiency and accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in lead times and planning processes.
