American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with at least three years of OR experience and an active WV or compact RN license for an acute care Operating Room position.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the acute care Operating Room with 14 suites handling an average of 28 surgical cases per dayPredominantly adult surgical population and all surgical cases except open heart and current vascular proceduresCommon procedures include neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general surgery, ENT, and moreRN to patient ratio is 1 : 1 in the OR settingUses Epic EMR for charting and documentationThree 12-hour day shifts per week, Monday through FridayOne weeknight on-call shift per week and one weekend 24-hour call per month; additional call may be possibleA 20-minute call response time is required when on callBlock scheduling permitted based on unit needsNo floating required for this positionPrimary responsibilities include circulating for various surgical specialties, excluding open heart and current vascular surgeriesScrubbing experience is a plus but not required for RNsCharge nurse present 7a-7p and may circulate cases if neededTechs are responsible for room turnover as no housekeeping aides are presentScrubs are provided for RNsThree-shift, floor-specific orientation provided for onboardingOne holiday will be covered by call assignmentFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this positionNo local travelers accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or compact RN license requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (AHA accepted)Minimum of three years of recent OR nursing experienceAt least two or three previous travel assignments preferredOrtho and neuro surgical experience preferredEpic EMR experience is preferred but not requiredDriver’s license address must be at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates previously employed at any WVU Medicine location must have a two-year break before applyingTravelers must not have worked within WVU for more than one year in total without a subsequent two-year break\n Benefits\n
