CARE Counseling , part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team. As a critical member of the Optum Behavioral Care Team, you will play an essential role in transforming healthcare by making it more accessible and effective for everyone.

We offer flexible work arrangements, allowing therapists to choose between onsite or a hybrid model, which includes working in the office 2 days a week. Additionally, you will have flexibility in the number of billable hours and total hours worked weekly.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct thorough screenings and assessments for a range of mental health and substance abuse disorders.
  • Deliver effective treatment for mental health conditions using a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods.
  • Systematically track treatment responses and continuously monitor patients for changes in symptoms and any treatment side effects.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards by maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Behavioral Science or a related field (Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Education, etc.).
  • Active, independent clinical license as a Mental Health Professional in the State of Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LICSW, LMFT).
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to work in one of the following modalities :
  • Onsite (all work completed at one consistent site).

  • Hybrid - at least 2 days onsite with a distraction-free space at home and access to high-speed internet.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in outpatient mental health services.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation.
  • Experience with diagnostic assessments.
  • Skills in treatment planning and managing a caseload.
  • Familiarity with AthenaHealth / AthenaOne and / or Opus.
  • Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to interpret reports, regulations, and policy manuals.
  • Experience in presenting information to various stakeholders, including community providers, medical professionals, and clients.
  • Knowledge of the effects of mental illness and a commitment to seeking interdisciplinary solutions in treatment.

    The annual salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600, based on full-time employment. Salary is determined by factors including local market conditions, education, work experience, and certifications. UnitedHealth Group adheres to all applicable minimum wage laws, providing a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
