Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring WA or compact RN license and strong ED experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with 60 beds including inpatient holding, psych rooms, and hall spacesPatient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, psych, and respiratory casesPatient ratios are typically 1 : 4, flexing to 1 : 5 for low acuity casesNight shift schedule with 12-hour shifts and weekend rotation every other weekendNo floating requiredUses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and central / bedside telemetrySupported by ER techs, charge and resource nurses, RT, educators, security, house supervisor, and pharmacy 24 / 7Responsibilities include caring for high acuity patients in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentSupport staff available 24 / 7, including security and pharmacyOrientation includes NEO, Epic training if needed, and 3-4 precepted shiftsScrub colors are flexible with professional appearance requiredNon-offensive tattoos and modest piercings are permittedHoliday coverage required for 3 out of 5 major holidaysUp to 5 days of time off may be approvedFree staff parking availableTraveler-friendly culture, with many extensionsRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 1 year strong Emergency Department RN experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI or MOABTraveler Competency Exam and Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to startProficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, drips, medication administration, procedural sedation, blood administration, cardiac medication managementEpic charting experience preferredFirst-time travelers not acceptedBenefits
