The Emergency Care Registered Nurse (RN) is crucial in providing comprehensive clinical care in both emergency and psychiatric settings. Your responsibilities will include : \n
- Conducting ongoing assessments of both the physical and psychosocial conditions of patients.\n
- Developing, documenting, and communicating individualized care plans that involve the patient, their family, and the healthcare team.\n
- Implementing and coordinating the care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.\n
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the care plans and adjusting them based on patients' responses and readiness for discharge.\n
- Planning educational initiatives tailored to the learning needs of the patient and family, providing valuable educational opportunities and documenting outcomes.\n
- Functioning as a psychiatric emergency nurse, triage nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor to new staff as authorized.\n
- Meeting performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and personal and staff development.\n
- Performing other duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department / unit.\n
- Demonstrating and maintaining competency in clinical and technical skills while implementing appropriate emergency nursing actions.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation : Graduate from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred. Proficient in using electronic patient records and internet resources for patient care literature.\n\nExperience : Previous emergency department experience is preferred.\n\nLicensure : Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.\n\nSpecial Skills : Current BLS required upon hire; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire; CPI required within 1 year of hire; TNCC and CEN strongly preferred.\n\nYNHHS Requisition ID : 162297
