Overview of the role
Join a team responsible for the implementation of a new ServiceNow module within a rapidly growing service management ecosystem. We are building out the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) module within ServiceNow, and also improving integrations with our IT Financial services platform (Apptio) to enhance transparency of projects and strategic planning across the organization. This project is just starting, so you will have the opportunity to shape a solution that will become the backbone of corporate strategy.
The Developer / Analyst II is responsible for application coding, configuration and testing, and is capable of solving targeted technical problems independently while collaborating with the team on system performance optimization and interoperability issues.
The Developer / Analyst II will work with business product owners, developers, and quality analysts to drive value delivery and will participate in all phases of Agile software development.
What You'll be Doing
Code and / or configure, test, and implement programs and packages. Develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to SAFe Agile principles and industry standards.Run unit tests. Monitor test results and take required corrective action.Demonstrate competent understanding of both systems and business knowledge and contribute software engineering advice as well as updating Knowledge Articles as needed.Demonstrate initiative and method for solving different problems and propose effective solutions.Assist in the deployment of applications or coordinates, implements and configures vendor software applications.Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and IT partners to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria for projects.Aid in systems development planning and monitoring.Understand and practice secure coding techniques and processes within the Agile framework.Participate in structured walkthroughs, secure coding, and technical reviews.Participate with other IT members, customers and other stakeholders in new product reviews, tests and pilots.Actively participate in all Agile team ceremonies.Assist in production support and maintenance of applications as needed and participate in a rotational on-call schedule.This role may also provide facilitation of activities for Agile teams within ITS as acting Scrum Master.This job profile is not meant to be all-inclusive of the responsibilities of this position; may perform other duties as assigned or required.What You Bring with You (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training required.2+ years of experience in systems development, programming or business / systems analysis.Familiarity with ServiceNow systems, such as ITSM, SPM, and HRSD.Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross-functional environment.Experience on Agile teams is preferred.Experience with JavaScript or a similar language, and familiarity with testing best practices.Knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and technical design techniques.Knowledge of database management and file access methods is desirable.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks.Knowledge of agile practices in a cross-functional environment preferred.Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.Ability to provide a high level of quality and productivity.Compensation & Benefits
We are committed to offering competitive pay that reflects market standards and ensures consistency within our organization. The pay range for this position is $77,000.00 - $118,000.00. This range represents the minimum and maximum base pay for the position, determined by factors such as market data, qualifications, level of responsibilities, and other roles at this level. Your specific pay rate within this range will be based on your experience, qualifications, and skills relative to the internal team you will join.
