Controller - Pennsauken, NJ (On-site)

Summary :
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all the financial operations including accounting, billings, collections, accounts payable and payroll. This role will work directly with the leadership team in the preparation of monthly reporting, annual budget and forecasts. The Controller will actively collaborate with the operations team as a trusted business partner and contribute to the execution of key corporate initiatives
Responsibilities :
- Monitor daily cash balances to ensure liquidity and meet financial obligations.
- Prepare and / or review workpapers to support a timely and accurate month-end close.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly as part of the closing process.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including sales / use tax and payroll taxes, along with year-end reporting requirements.
- Analyze weekly financial performance metrics to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements, including the monthly reporting package.
- Develop and analyze budgets and forecasts, including presentation materials for management.
- Present financial reports and insights to senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Provide support for the annual financial audit, including documentation and coordination with auditors.
- Develop expertise in ERP software (COINS) to accurately record accounting and become one of the SME (subject matter expert) of COINS.
- Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Provide useful and relevant information to the business users to support their business initiatives and strategies.
- Work closely with other department business users to gain usable and valuable knowledge that will aid LorMar in business excellence.
- Champion special projects that support functional or business initiatives that are of strategic importance to the organization.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. MBA or CPA a plus but not required.Experience in the construction industry preferred but not required.At least 10 years' experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes.Working knowledge of Excel, including use of V-lookup / Pivot tables / graphs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent Team Membership skills that promotes a positive environment.Detail oriented and highly organized.Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations.Ability to query data to obtain meaningful information.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
