GENERAL DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS Throop Borough is currently accepting applications for a full time position in its Public Works Department. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, refuse, recycling, electronics, yard waste, appliance and metal collections, maintenance and repair of roads, sewers, public grounds, buildings and other general maintenance work as required. The successful candidate should possess a valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License with an air brake endorsement or must obtain one within the first 10 weeks of employment. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol screening, and a fit for duty exam, must have a clean driving record and have the ability to communicate and work cooperatively with staff and the community. Previous experience in the public works, construction and / or mechanical field is a plus. Resumes must be accompanied by an Employment Application.
