ESA Deputy Director Stem Programs
The Program Director, Careers in Computer Science will utilize industry knowledge and program management skills to work independently to scale up programming and resources designed to prepare students for successful careers in computer science, data analytics, and related fields in alignment with current market trends. With limited supervision, this team member will support the growth and execution of pre-professional programs designed to increase access to technical careers for diverse and underrepresented students. This team member will manage and execute events, develop impactful pre-professional workshops and experiential programs, provide one-on-one advising for students, support the management of outcomes reporting, and collaborate with campus partners as needed. This position requires a passion for impacting students through career services and advising, the ability to think strategically about program management, and the ability to work independently to drive initiatives forward. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and talented individual contributor with a record of success in complex, fast-paced environments where collaboration is critical to success.
Responsibilities :
- Develops and implements a cohesive strategy for student success in computer science careers through early engagement and ongoing support.
- Designs and implements computer science-specific career programs and resources, drawing on deep industry expertise and connections.
- Organizes and leads programs and workshops highlighting opportunities in computer science fields, such as hackathons, technical interview workshops, and planning and leading career exploration trips to tech hubs around the world.
- Builds and maintains a portfolio of tech employers to drive internship and full-time job opportunities.
- Connects students with research opportunities in computer science in both academia and industry.
- Provides high-quality career advising to undergraduate students and alumni through one-on-one career advising sessions.
- Provides a high level of customer service and support to employers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with campus partners and faculty.
- Assembles resources to assist students in gaining experience with coding.
- Analyzes placement and survey data to develop data-driven strategic initiatives.
- Analyzes markets and trends as they relate to job searches. Assesses student feedback and evaluations and collaborates with other career services staff members, student organizations, or other staff to determine program offerings and innovations.
- Researches organizations that are hiring and partners with a wide variety of employers to ensure recruitment strategies meet their needs. Maintains contact with a portfolio of employers to serve as their dedicated Career Advancement liaison.

Minimum Qualifications :
Education :
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience :
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Bachelor's degree in a computer science or other quantitative STEM field.Experience :
Prior experience working in talent development or human resources in the tech industry or supporting technical rolesBackground working with college-aged students, recent college graduates, and or early career professionals.Understanding of graduate education opportunities in computer science and related fields.Technical Skills or Knowledge :
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Proficiency with tools commonly used in innovation, such as data analysis tools and other industry-relevant technical skills.Attuned to the technical recruitment process for a variety of computer science roles, including software engineering, data science, product management, and UI / UX designKnowledge of tools and services including online employment sites, CRM systems and other resources for job seekers.Preferred Competencies :
