Responsibilities & Requirements
A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed professional who assists in the provision of physical therapy treatments, including the provision of patient education and instruction, under the supervision of a physical therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant keeps the physical therapist updated on how the patient is progressing and responding to treatment and documents the information. Major tasks and duties include, but are not limited to : direct patient care, day to day patient scheduling, consultation with physicians, Physical Therapist and other team members, documentation in the electronic medical record, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), clinical education, guest relations, and billing for patient services rendered and other duties as assigned.
