Job Description
SUMMARY
The Logistics Engineer is responsible for taking engineering projects from concept to implementation for warehousing and transportation solutions. Projects include process refinement and optimization, building infrastructure assessment and improvement, and capacity expansion projects. Operations range from basic highly manual pallet in / out operations to complex omni-channel operations which may include automation solutions (i.e., conveyance, sortation and robotics).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Special Projects - Assist in companywide activities associated with the department.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering preferred. Must have sound interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently in a team.
Travel
Travel will vary based on active projects. Travel will be required approximately 30% of the time.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent written and verbal communication / comprehension skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to physically count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILILTY
Ability to define problems establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
