The Role
We're seeking a Controller to lead our accounting function and drive financial integrity. Reporting to the CFO, you'll oversee the general ledger, produce accurate financial reports, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. You'll work closely with auditors, regulators, and internal teams to optimize financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations.
Prepare budgets, monthly financial statements, and ad hoc reports for executive leadership and the Board.
Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
Analyze costs, revenues, and operational performance to recommend improvements.
Collaborate with auditors, regulators, and vendors to maintain financial integrity.
Qualifications : CPA required.
Minimum 5 years managing an accounting department in a financial institution; credit union experience preferred.
Minimum 5 years in budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree a plus.
Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
High level of confidentiality and commitment to member service.
