IT Asset Technician (Carrollton, TX)
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking an IT Asset Deployment Technician to support a large-scale endpoint deployment and recovery project in our Carrollton, TX facility. This team will play a key role in preparing, staging, shipping, and receiving IT equipment as part of enterprise lifecycle management operations.
Experience of the Right Candidate :
- 1+ years of experience in IT asset management, warehouse operations, or logistics support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized processes.
- Basic familiarity with IT equipment (laptops, peripherals, endpoints) preferred.
- Comfortable using ticketing or tracking systems (e.g., ServiceNow, CMDB tools) training provided if needed.
- Able to lift, move, and handle IT equipment and shipping boxes safely.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work onsite 5 days per week.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate :
Prepare laptops and related hardware for deployment by performing pre-staging activities and verifying functionality.Manage incoming and outgoing device shipments boxing, labeling, and printing shipping materials via UPS / FedEx systems.Clean, grade, and inventory devices to determine readiness for reuse, redeployment, or disposal.Organize and reshelve assets for storage or future redeployment.Perform data entry and asset tracking in internal systems (e.g., CMDB, ServiceNow) to record device status, asset tags, and locations.Support the offboarding process by processing recovered assets, updating system records, and ensuring appropriate handling (e.g., stock, on-hold, or legal hold).Collaborate with internal IT staff and project leads to maintain operational flow and meet daily targets.Follow established procedures for asset security, handling, and documentation.
