Odyssey Systems is hiring : Senior Technical Writer in Bedford

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Writer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC / HBD), Theater Battle Control Division. The Theater Battle Control Division manages efforts focused on developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining programs that support worldwide communications, Battle Management, Command & Control, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C2ISR), Tactical Air Control, Air / Ground Surveillance, Time Critical Targeting, Combat Identification, Radar Imagery, Integrated Air / Missile Defense, and Mobile / Fixed C2ISR Performance, Exploitation & Dissemination Facilities.

This is a full-time position located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Obtaining, analyzing, and selecting the pertinent information
• Determining the most logical and effective sequence of the narrative
• Determining the overall length and tone based on the objectives, the medium, and the audience
• Writing the material
• Consulting on or selecting illustrative material
• Preparing the material for publication
• Writing technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications
• Meeting with customer representatives, vendors, system engineers, and program managers to establish technical specifications
• Studying drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples
• Creating user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals
• Preparing charts, graphs, or forms to go along with rough drafts
• Ensuring document contents follow required formats
• Writing clear and concise policies and procedures
• Ensuring consistency of wording among multiple documents
• Creating a table of contents and citing sources
• Submitting copies to managers for feedback
• Maintaining an electronic library of all signed documents and final presentations
• Providing updates and different editions as necessary

Qualifications

Citizenship : Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance : Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance

Education : BA / BS degree

Years of experience : 10+ years of experience, with at least five years supporting DoD programs
