Maintenance Tech- 2nd Shift :
2 : 00pm-10 : 30pm (Mon-Fri, some weekends)
Must be willing to train 1-2 weeks on 1st
PAY DOE-
A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of all equipment used in the production and packaging of food products. This role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of these systems, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities :
Food Safety :
- Ensure that the facility and all production equipment are maintained properly while following all food safety guidelines and procedures.
- Identify, communicate, and help resolve potential food safety concerns (e.g., condensation, improper welds, hygienic design).
Equipment / Facilities Maintenance :
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all production and facilities equipment, including boilers, mixers, ovens, conveyors, and components of refrigeration systems.Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and prevent equipment failures.Troubleshooting :
Diagnose a variety of equipment issues involving electrical, mechanical, steam, refrigeration, and control system components.Utilize diagnostic tools, equipment, and technical drawings to identify and address problems efficiently.Repairs and Upgrades :
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems as needed.Participate in equipment upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency or meet changing production requirements.Safety Compliance :
Ensure all production equipment and facility operations comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.Maintain a strong safety mindset and follow all workplace safety guidelines and procedures.Work with other teams to identify safety concerns and assist with developing solutions to maintain a safe work environment.Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, work in confined spaces, and be in proximity to loud equipment.Must be able to respond to potentially hazardous situations safely.Documentation :
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities using computer-based systems.Document and communicate spare parts inventory and order replacement components when necessary.Team Collaboration :
Communicate effectively with production teams to expedite troubleshooting or provide proper equipment operational instruction.Work closely with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities, schedule downtime, and minimize disruptions.Assist in training team members in basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the manufacturing process.Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance productivity.Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance is a plus.Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in a food manufacturing or similar industrial setting.Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair.Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for extended durations.Comfortable working in cold environments and on concrete floors (as low as 32 degrees Fahrenheit).Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.Exposure to occupational noise, high-temperature water, and hazardous chemicals.Must wear steel-toe boots (minimum 6 inches above the ankle).Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Flexibility to work in shifts and respond to emergencies as needed.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP) is a plus.Additional Information :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Other physical activities include handling objects, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Protective Equipment :
Employees must wear required personal protective equipment while in the plant, which may include an assigned work uniform, hair and beard net, safety glasses, designated shoes, and ear protection.
