Vice President, Behavioral Health Service Line
The Vice President, Behavioral Health Service Line is responsible for the operational, financial, and people performance of the entire Behavioral Health Service Line in the North Region including : Psychiatry, Mental Health Therapy, Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Hospital Based Day Treatment program, Behavioral Health Walk in and Urgent services, Inpatient Behavioral Health, Hospital Based Behavioral Health Consults, Integrated Behavioral Health, Psychology and Neuropsychology. Working with a Physician Dyad partner, together they provide overall leadership and coordinates activities of all aspects of the Service Line with the objective of ensuring that the delivery of patient and healthcare services are aligned with the values, strategic goals, and guidelines of the ThedaCare system. Provides operational and finance leadership while ensuring delivery and execution of metrics and targets. Develops an organizational culture that is values driven and promotes connectivity and collaboration with the ThedaCare system. Provides leadership and direction and is accountable for the strategic planning, business development, clinical excellence, people management, fiscal targets, operational effectiveness, and cultivation of positive relationships with providers and key stakeholders. Ensures that clinical support services are coordinated across team members, functions, and processes to improve patient care and clinical outcomes. The Vice President and their dyad physician partner will have oversight of the clinical delivery team's performance to drive improvement work in quality, access, cost-reduction, patient and team experience, safety, growth and partnerships, transformation, community connectivity and culture.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Participates as a member of the ThedaCare medical centers and service lines leadership team in planning, leading, organizing, implementing, and evaluating operating functions and processes essential for local and organizational success.
- Provides for proactive development, communication, and maintenance of the strategic direction and long-range plans (human resources, capital resources, financial, etc.), which are designed to meet the needs of the community in an affordable and quality manner.
- Serves as a resource and collaborator with the family of foundations to cultivate, plan, and execute philanthropic goals that best serve the organization and community.
- Works closely with providers to ensure that the highest quality of service is being delivered.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the operations of programs and services, and initiating changes when necessary.
- Facilitates the ongoing improvement of work processes to meet customer needs and position ThedaCare for long-term success.
- Develops knowledge and expertise of trends and developments in the healthcare industry and the behavioral healthcare industry to facilitate growth of management and team members.
- Maintains a high level of visibility and accessibility with team members and the.
- Collaborates with other executives at ThedaCare in making decisions about health care services, settings, and organizational priorities.
- Engages in advocacy and public policy activities to foster sustainable patient-centered care.
- Ensures that the community is well served through proactive external participation, contribution, and representation where appropriate, and has primary responsibility in developing relationships with community, philanthropic, political, and healthcare leaders.
- Works collaboratively with other ThedaCare leaders to ensure strong alignment and integration of services across the organization (right care, right place, right time).
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare field or business is required, with a master's degree strongly preferred.Eight years of leadership experience in a behavioral health setting including demonstrated ability to lead physicians and other clinicians. Five years of leadership experience to include leading teams and / or projects.A successful candidate must have the following skills, aptitude, and experience :Strategic planning and business developmentClinical operations (either inpatient hospital or ambulatory)Budget development and fiscal accountability for major service or department(s)Financial analysis and planningProject management and team facilitationStaff development and physician relationsProblem-solving and conflict resolutionScheduled Weekly Hours : 40
