Production Equipment Operator (Packaging & Molding)

Location : Itasca, IL

Pay : $18.00 / hour (AM Shift) | $19.00 / hour (PM Shift)

Schedule : 12-hour rotating shifts

  • AM Shift : 6 : 55 AM – 7 : 00 PM
  • PM Shift : 6 : 55 PM – 7 : 00 AM

A day in this role

You arrive a few minutes before 6 : 55 to review the production plan and handoff notes. As the line comes to life, you bring palletizers, wrapping machines, strappers, box machines, and molding equipment up to spec, making careful adjustments to keep output consistent and on target. Throughout the shift, you perform quality checks, enter production data accurately, and keep your area neat and compliant with GMP guidelines. When you spot a potential safety concern or a quality deviation, you act immediately—communicating changes to your team and following the proper shutdown or startup procedures as needed. You wrap up by cleaning down the area and documenting any issues for the next shift.

What youll do

  • Safely operate and monitor production machinery, including palletizers, wrapping machines, strappers, box machines, and molding equipment.
  • Perform routine quality checks and input data with accuracy.
  • Tune machine settings to maintain steady output that meets quality standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized in line with GMP expectations.
  • Identify and report safety hazards or quality issues without delay.
  • Follow established safety procedures, including correct startup and shutdown methods.
  • Share updates and production changes with teammates.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
  • What youll bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Solid math skills and comfort with measurement tools.
  • Ability to spot quality defects quickly and make sound decisions.
  • Physical demands

  • Ability to stand, lift, push, pull, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working 12-hour shifts and overtime when required.
