Role Overview
The role is dynamic, with the new hire reporting directly to both Accounts Payable and key managers as well as any employee requiring support. This position will be critical in supporting ongoing operations by bridging purchasing, receiving, and inventory management responsibilities.
The Purchasing, Receiving, and Inventory Assistant will support the procurement team by developing and managing relationships with key suppliers, overseeing incoming receiving procedures, tracking inventory, and ensuring accurate data entry into ERP systems.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Complete general purchasing support tasks including expediting shipments, sending purchase orders, and confirming expected ship dates.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and manage internal / external service relationships.
- Support Accounts Payable in resolving invoice variances.
- Track internal and external material and service suppliers, monitor service purchases, and update procurement records.
- Manage apparel stock levels, re-order points, and identify purchasing needs.
- Oversee inventory management processes including stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of variances.
- Ensure timely receiving of parts, shop supplies, and raw materials; coordinate placement of items in proper locations on the shop floor.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems and support continuous process improvements.
- Identify and resolve unacceptable materials or service issues with suppliers.
- Assist with material handling, including lifting and carrying boxes up to 50 lbs.
Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to manage purchasing and inventory workflows independently with attention to detail.Strong organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.Ability to reconcile discrepancies, perform unit of measure conversions, and maintain accuracy under deadlines.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to balance changing workloads while maintaining deadlines.High school diploma required; supply chain experience recommended.Physical ability to lift 25-50 lbs.Knowledge of Global Shop Solutions or other ERP systems is a plus.Work Schedule
Standard schedule : Monday through Friday, 6 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 00 p.m. (minimum of 8 hours per day).Some adjustments may be made during winter months.Compensation & Benefits
