We are hiring for Police Officer 1 and Police Officer 2 positions, with pay ranges based on experience :
- Police Officer 1, pay range 8 ($22.81 / hour)
- Police Officer 2, pay range 10 ($26.25 / hour)

Patrol campus grounds and buildings on foot and by vehicle, ensuring safety for patients, visitors, and staffCheck property for open doors, gates, windows, fires, or safety hazardsAssist in emergency and disaster situations, including evacuations and hospital codes (e.g., Code Black, Silver, Red)Enforce Ohio Revised Code, prevent criminal activities, and testify in court as neededVerify identities of individuals on grounds and monitor traffic and parkingInvestigate and report criminal complaintsSearch and patrol for missing or escaped patients and assist in returning themReport security and safety issues to hospital administrationScreen newly admitted patients and their property for contraband, logging valuables appropriatelyAssist clinical staff during emergencies, utilizing Crisis Intervention / De-escalation protocolsReport violations of Ohio Administrative Code work rulesMonitor visitors and assist with transporting forensic patients as neededQualifications
Formal education in arithmetic (fractions, decimals, percentages), reading, and English vocabulary; valid driver's license. Probationary period of one year.
Alternatively, possession of a certificate from an approved basic peace officer training program or completion of 20 years active duty as a peace officer per Ohio Revised Code Section 109.78(D) for developmental disabilities and mental health facility employees. Applicants must successfully perform Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program (OPOTC) Fitness Testing Entry Standards for New Recruits.
