Outside Electrician
Job Responsibilities :
The Outside Electrician is responsible for :
- Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (also includes control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
- Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
- Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization.
- Groom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and also responsible for providing documentation for every job performed. Mechanics are provided skills, including Vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
- Applicants will be tasked to learn power and data / signal cable splicing.
