About The Position

License : Current RN License

Certifications : BLS Certification

Description : The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.

The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering.

This is achieved through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families.

The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies.

The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients.

They serve as a primary nurse and / or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment.

The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.

They utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to policies.

The RN shares in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing and time management.

They comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.

The RN actively participates in and supports improvement initiatives and contributes to peer review practices.

They engage in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory education requirements.

The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.

They provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

The RN will perform other duties as assigned.

The RN will follow all organizational values.
