General Job Summary :

Under the general direction of the Director, Quality Systems, performs timely and systematic medical record reviews to provide accurate, concise, and objective data to assist with the determination of donor potential, improving hospital and OPO performance, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Gathers and reports these and other metrics to support quality improvement priorities, ongoing performance measurement, and regulatory reporting requirements. This position requires regular interaction with Leadership, external partners, and various internal departments, as well as attention to detail, discretion, and judgment in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Position requires travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices and hospitals within the DSA.

Education and Experience :

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in medical, science, or related discipline and / or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and health information management systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data collection methods and data analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare technology, clinical workflows, and data systems.

  • Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Conducts timely and systematic reviews of all donor referrals and donor records to provide accurate, concise and objective data regarding donor potential, referral compliance and performance of definitive components of the donation process (i.e., absence of brain function, organ function, infectious disease processes, autoimmune disease, communicable disease agents, certain cancers, etc.) to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Uses data and information collected to assess organ donor potential, identify missed opportunities for donation, and evaluate the effectiveness of referral processes, thereby supporting continuous improvement efforts and the organizational strategic plan.
  • Serves as the liaison with various internal departments to ensure accurate and timely data entry for ongoing reconciliation of donor data per regulatory requirements. Supports internal departments with the investigation and resolution of data entry issues.
  • Gathers information and submits periodic data reports related to performance and quality to Leadership and regulatory and accreditation organizations (e.g., OPTN / UNOS, SRTR, AOPO) within established timeframes.
  • Assists to document non-conformances and deviations from practice in the electronic quality management system. Participates in non-conformance meetings.
  • Participates in projects associated with the Strategic Plan in support of Infinite Legacy’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintains appropriate EMR access to all available hospitals and confidentiality of all patient and donor / recipient information.
  • Participate in organizational training, departmental training, annual organizational competency training, and review of training programs for compliance with current requirements and standards.
  • Participate in Clinical Operations routine staff meetings to provide communication and feedback for improvement opportunities.
  • Composes and produces routine correspondence which may at times be of a confidential nature.
  • Participates in Standard Operating Procedure development, revision, review, and implementation in collaboration with Leadership, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Supervisor in review and maintenance of all QS related documents, and associated paperwork.
