Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking an empathetic, motivated, and growth-oriented therapist who’s eager to specialize in trauma, behavioral addiction, and couples healing. Must-Have Qualifications To ensure alignment with Thrive’s mission and commitment to excellence, applicants must meet the following criteria : Education & Licensure Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution Active or limited Michigan license : LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, LLPC, or LMFT Good standing with the Michigan licensing board and eligible for insurance credentialing Clinical Experience Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience (internship hours may apply for LLMSW / LLPC) Prior work or strong interest in trauma, couples therapy, infidelity recovery, or behavioral addictions Understanding of or openness to learn trauma-informed, attachment-based, and somatic frameworks Professional Skills Ability to manage a full caseload with professionalism, organization, and empathy Commitment to ethical, evidence-based care and thorough documentation Comfort collaborating in a team-oriented clinical environment Personal Attributes Deep compassion for clients and their stories Growth-oriented mindset and receptiveness to supervision and mentorship Desire to advance through Thrive’s in-house specialized certifications (EMDR, Trauma, CSAT, CCPS, Gottman) Alignment with Thrive’s core values of healing, authenticity, and integrity Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following experiences and traits will make you an exceptional fit for our team : Advanced Training & Clinical Expertise Prior certification or training in EMDR, Trauma Specialization, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, CSAT, or CCPS Experience supporting couples navigating infidelity, betrayal trauma, or intimacy challenges Familiarity with polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, or attachment-based modalities Comfort integrating mind-body and relational healing frameworks Professional & Relational Strengths Proven ability to hold space for complex trauma and emotionally intense sessions Interest in case consultations, group collaboration, or clinical program development Experience working in or contributing to multidisciplinary teams Growth Mindset & Alignment Passion for lifelong learning and continued clinical growth Enthusiasm for mentorship, supervision, and reflective practice Desire to contribute to a practice built on compassion, innovation, and excellence Resonance with Thrive’s mission : helping clients move beyond recovery — toward reconnection, wholeness, and thriving Why Join Thrive Beyond Trauma Counseling When you join Thrive, you become part of a vision-driven practice where clinicians are encouraged to evolve — not just as professionals, but as whole human beings.
