Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 10-suite Operating Room unit within an acute care, Level I Trauma Center
  • Focus on general OR cases including ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology, and urology
  • Typical caseload ranges from 80 to 120 fast-paced outpatient cases daily
  • No robotics, minimal plastics and general surgery cases, and no overnight, weekend, or holiday operations
  • Uses Epic EMR for documentation
  • Night shift position with a schedule of 2 eight-hour and 2 twelve-hour shifts per week
  • 4 hours of weekly call with a required 30-minute response time
  • Occasional weekend and holiday coverage may be required
  • Scrubs are provided for the OR setting
  • Provide perioperative care and circulate a diverse range of surgical cases in a high-volume, fast-turnover environment
  • Orientation provided every two weeks on a rotating schedule
  • Position is suitable for RNs with strong ambulatory surgery experience
  • Holiday and weekend assignments may occur based on rotation
  • No local candidates are accepted within a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position

  • Active WV or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates with prior WVU system employment must have a 2-year break before reapplying
  • Travelers who have worked at WVU for 1 year must take a 2-year break before returning
