Business Development Specialist
This position requires a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand market presence within a designated territory. This role involves generating leads, developing strategic partnerships, executing growth initiatives, and supporting the achievement of revenue growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bringing high potential opportunities through the early stages of the sales cycle, advancing them to a launch milestone, and then collaborating through an effective handoff process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform business development strategies.
- Identify, research, and qualify new business prospects within the medical device sector throughout the United States. Key strategic targets will be assigned and may change year over year.
- Engage with both warm marketing-generated leads and cold outbound outreach to develop a robust sales pipeline.
- Initiate contact and build relationships with key decision-makers in the Medical Device OEM market.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer needs and position our solutions effectively.
- Take opportunities through the Appointment to Launch phase, ensuring a seamless handoff to a dedicated Strategic Account Manager or Regional Sales Manager for account management and closing.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all leads, activities, and pipeline progress in the CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to refine messaging and target ideal customer profiles.
- Continuously seek new sources of leads and innovative methods for pipeline generation.
- Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities as needed.
- Travel as needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field preferred.3+ years of business development in Medical OEM sales.Proven track record as a "hunter" with demonstrable success opening new accounts and driving top-of-funnel activity.Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships, generate leads, and contribute to revenue growth.Experience navigating complex sales cycles and multi-level decision-making environments.Comfort and confidence working warm, marketing-qualified leads, as well as sourcing and developing cold leads independently.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and CRM management skills.Self-motivated, adaptable, and energized by meeting or exceeding ambitious targets.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and innovative environment.Located in the USA with willingness to travel as needed.What's in it for you :
