Position Purpose
This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to effectively assist our members and support the integrity of our financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring proper lien perfection and title tracking on auto loans, including following up with dealerships or third parties to obtain required documentation and releasing titles accurately upon payoff. In addition, this role manages collection activities on delinquent share accounts, conducts member outreach to resolve delinquencies, and assists with related functions such as repossessions, skip tracing, and Safe Deposit Box collections. Through a member-focused approach, the Financial Solutions Representative provides professional, empathetic service while supporting the overall success of the Financial Solutions Department.
Essential Duties, Skills & Abilities
- Exhibit outstanding member services skills by applying Granite Credit Union Service Standards and Core Values.
- Handle incoming Financial Solutions calls and chats via the Glia platform, providing prompt and professional assistance regarding accounts, payments, and other inquiries.
- Offer solutions tailored to the members' needs while following Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all information and transactions regarding credit union members are kept confidential.
- Conduct outbound calls on past due accounts, with the goal of securing payments or establishing payment arrangements.
- Accurately document all member communications, repayment agreements, and actions taken to ensure transparency and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Set up and monitor Courtesy Repayment Plans and skip payment arrangements, ensuring compliance and clear documentation.
- Assist members with loan extension requests and skip payment eligibility options, explaining terms, eligibility, and potential impacts while ensuring adherence to credit union policies.
- Utilize skip-tracing techniques to locate and contact members with delinquent accounts who have become unreachable.
- Communicate repayment and recovery details clearly and professionally, ensuring members understand plan terms, payment expectations, and next steps, including potential consequences of non-compliance or repossession.
- Process dealer contract and GAP cancellations on repossessed loans and ensure related refunds are applied accurately or credited to the member.
- Track and manage auto titles to ensure lien perfection, including verifying that Granite Credit Union is listed as the lienholder and following up with dealerships or third parties to obtain titles as needed.
- Process and release titles accurately upon loan payoff or other qualifying events in compliance with policies and state regulations.
- Monitor and collect Safe Deposit Box rental fees, following up on overdue accounts as required.
- Maintain the security of the work area and keep it organized and neat in appearance.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management staff, board members, and outside vendors.
- Promote a professional appearance and attitude.
- Basic computer operating skills such as email, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications for Success : Your Skills and Experience
At least one year of experience in a financial institution.Proven experience in financial services, collections, or related role.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and in a team setting, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.Bilingual English and Spanish ability preferred.Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
