Job Description
We’re seeking a seasoned Process Engineer / Analyst with deep expertise in casualty insurance operations to lead process optimization initiatives across underwriting functions. With over 7 years of experience, you’ll serve as a strategic partner to underwriters, driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation in complex liability lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end process reviews for casualty underwriting, including general liability, auto liability, and workers’ compensation
- Identify inefficiencies and design scalable solutions that enhance underwriting speed, accuracy, and compliance
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams
- Champion automation and digital initiatives, partnering with IT and business teams to implement tools and platforms
- Analyze underwriting data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Serve as a liaison between underwriting, compliance, and operations teams to ensure alignment
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization
- Support audit readiness and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and underwriting executives
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field (Master’s preferred)7+ years of experience in process analysis within casualty insurance or underwriting operationsStrong understanding of casualty risk assessment and policy lifecycleExpertise in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, BPMN) and data analytics (Excel, SQL, Power BI)Proven track record of leading cross-functional process improvement projectsFamiliarity with underwriting platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek)Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, BPM, or similar methodologies highly desirableExceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
