Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Nashville, TN 37203 (Tennessee nursing jobs) Unit : 12 Tower – Medical Surgical (Med / Surg) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (10 / 27 / 2025 – 1 / 26 / 2026) Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Hours per Week : 36 Number of Beds : 36 Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 / 1 : 5 On-Site Registered Nurse Position Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530–$1640 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee or compact state BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical (Med / Surg) nursing experience preferred Proficient in patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, and seizure patients Experience with post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record system is a plus Ability to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block Strong communication, teamwork, and responsiveness skills Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to a diverse Med / Surg patient population Conduct bedside shift reports and perform safety checks every 1-2 hours Operate clinical equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps Maintain accurate patient documentation using Meditech Participate in healthcare-associated infection (HAI) and fall prevention initiatives Adhere to 100% medication scanning protocols, including for controlled substances Float to other hospital units as needed to support core nursing staff Comply with attendance and dress code policies (approved scrubs : navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue) Foster a positive team environment focused on patient outcomes and staff recognition Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team and make a difference in Nashville's Med / Surg community!
