Job Title : Critical Care Float RN

Unit : Critical Care Float Pool

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day (6 : 30 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Overview

MVHS is seeking experienced Critical Care RNs to join the Float Pool . This role provides flexible support to multiple units, including ICU and Med / Surg, covering patient care as needed. Block scheduling is not guaranteed , and floating is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients across units.
  • Float to different hospital units except Psych and ED (unless managing holds).
  • Manage patient assignments ranging from 1 : 1 to 1 : 7 depending on unit and acuity.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide evidence-based care.
  • Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and communication.

    • Requirements

  • Active New York RN license at submission
  • 2+ years ICU experience
  • Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIH
  • Must be flexible and willing to float to different hospital units

    • Unit Details

  • Beds : 42
  • Common Patient Diagnoses : Stroke, Sepsis, AMS, Neuro Intervention (TCAR), Respiratory Failure, CHF, Post-STEMI, Cardiogenic Shock, Post-op trauma and CV surgery patients
  • Specialty Equipment : IABP, CRRT, Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, TTM
  • Scrub Color : Navy Blue
  • Floating may include Med / Surg assignments with 6–7 patients
