The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring tools and equipment are always in proper working condition and well-maintained. Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing company tools and equipment. Report any abuse or misuse of returned tools to the Tool Room Coordinator immediately.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Must have basic knowledge in repairing and maintaining small engines and power tools.
  • Ensure that any tool issued is properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Notify Tool Room Coordinator of any damage to incoming tools outside of normal wear and tear.
  • Make recommendations to replace tools when they are no longer serviceable.
  • Make recommendations for tool process improvements.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of tools and replacement parts based on trending usages.
  • Fill out requisition for parts needed, in detail and scan to purchasing.
  • Inspect ladders, lifting straps, etc. for safety concerns.
  • Keep tool room organized and secure at all times.
  • Report any building maintenance or building safety concerns to warehouse manager immediately.
  • Cross train in all aspects of warehouse to qualify as a backup as needed.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Assist in stock pulls as needed.
  • Assist in lawn, grounds, and light building maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving as necessary.
  • Some driving may be required.
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience repairing small engines, equipment, and tools.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Safety Awareness :

    This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to perform tasks involving physical labor, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
