RN Unit Coordinator to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital on the Med Surg / Hematology Unit.
Hours / Shift
Full-Time, Night shift, approximately 7pm to 7am
Department / Position Overview
This state-of-the-art 24-bed unit cares for a wide variety of medical diagnoses including CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Stroke, and end-of-life care. The unit specializes in care for patients with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell. You will gain knowledge in procedures such as wound VACs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis. The unit also offers self-scheduling to help you manage your schedule.

Responsibilities
RN Unit Coordinators demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in the department. Under the direction of the department manager, they lead safety and quality initiatives, streamline workflow, and contribute to staff development. They increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
