Job Description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing Supplier relations and transportation details. Their duties include evaluating their employers’ brand and target audience to determine what products to order, monitoring delivery times from warehouses or manufacturing plants to retail locations and hiring and training purchasing staff members to carry out purchasing tasks. Provide accurate and timely information flow for vital management decision making.

Job Functions :

  • Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business.
  • Coordinating with HQ partners to identify and source local vendors to supply necessary materials for North America manufacturing sites.
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
  • Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries.
  • Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production.
  • Conducting cost analysis and setting benchmarks for improvement.
  • Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
  • Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary.
  • Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous working experience as a Procurement Manager for 5 years, preferably in the agricultural machinery industry.
  • BS / MS / MA in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, or similar relevant fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical aspects of components for locally sourced parts.
  • Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management.
  • In-depth knowledge of contracts, invoices, and negotiation terms.
  • Superb communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Outstanding negotiation skills
  • Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills APICS Supply Chain certifications
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) Recommended
  • Certified Professional Purchasing Manager (CPPM) Recommended
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma concepts, for implementing and analyzing current processes for improvements.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • SAP and Salesforce skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Adept & comfortable working with personnel from varied corporate levels and cultural backgrounds. Multilingual or bilingual proficiency (Korean a bonus).

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Travel (domestic and international), as needed.
