The Advisor Group Lead (AGL) at Sequoia Financial Group is responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of financial advisors. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a performance-driven environment and has a proven track record of leadership in the financial services industry. As an AGL, you will be responsible for empowering your team to deliver exceptional client experiences, exceed growth targets, and maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The role involves strategic leadership, team management, and operational oversight. Key responsibilities include :
Manager Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring to designated group of Advisors.Responsible for performance / development plans, mid-year and year-end reviews, and compensation conversations.Leads regular meetings with designated group of Advisors to cascade messages from Leadership Committee and other firm forums to reinforce communications coming from across the firm and to put in context relevant for the group.Be a sounding board and source of input / ideas to Advisors who want to brainstorm strategy / pricing for approach with prospects.Support Advisors through client problem resolution, client sat and at-risk management.Review and approve business development expenses and sponsorships in coordination with COO.Be the point of contact for team to determine staffing of the advisor teams for new clientsAs needed, responsible for recruiting, interviewing and onboarding of new Advisors in coordination with Org Development team.Size of group depends on the manager’s experience in leading others, functional expertise, capacity and location.Clean Form U4 is required. U4 cannot have any regulatory disclosures, client complaints, arbitrations or disclosable settlements.Service Delivery Responsibilities
Lead designated group of Advisors to adopt and implement firm priorities and initiatives (e.g. technology, service standards, etc.)Accountable for assisting advisors in driving client participation in firm sponsored client events.Segment Responsibilities
Actively develop and maintain a designated segment focused point of view to provide thought leadership / input to the Head of Segment Strategy and / or Chief Client Experience Officer.Ensures consumption and application of the segment strategy tacticsRequired Skills / Experience
Bachelor’s degree required in Economics, Finance or related fieldMust have 5 consecutive years (most recently) as IAR with Series 65 or a Series 7 and Series 66 combination ORMust be a registered representative (IAR) of firm for at least 2 years with Series 65 or 7 and 66 combination and at least 3 years immediately prior to IAR registration as any of one of the following : Registered rep of full service brokerage; CFA, CFP or CPA; Securities Portfolio ManagerCFP Achieved or willing to pursue designationPrior experience as an Advisor, leading an Advisor team, and / or established credibility in financial advisory experience5-7 years of management experience10+ industry years' experienceIndustry technology experience (CRM / Salesforce / Redtail, Portfolio Management / Tamarac, Black Diamond)Ability to travel domesticallyA flexible and versatile leader able to work and execute independentlyIndustry designation(s) (CFP, CWA, CFA)Ability to work and manage in and across multiple wealth segmentsCompetencies
