About the role

Rippling's financial platform moves billions of dollars every monthpaying employees, managing benefits, funding accounts, and powering businesses globally. As the Product Lead for Payments Risk, you will own the controls, systems, policies, and automation that ensure the safety, integrity, and compliance of those flows.

You'll partner closely with the Risk, Compliance, and Data Science teams to design and deliver tools, rules engines, and integrations that detect and prevent fraud, assess credit risk, and maintain AML compliance. This includes building out a modern infrastructure for automated underwriting, transaction monitoring, and AI / ML-driven risk evaluation across Rippling's suite of products.

Your work will directly shape how Rippling balances rapid innovation with financial integrityensuring that every transaction and account on the platform is both seamless and secure.

What you will do

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for Rippling's risk, compliance, and underwriting decisioning systems
  • Design and scale internal tools and automation frameworks to support credit evaluations, fraud detection, and AML compliance, across all of Rippling's financial products
  • Build a unified payments risk platform that includes case management, rules engines, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening systems
  • Implement ML and AI-based systems to power real-time risk scoring, anomaly detection, and dynamic underwriting decisions
  • Work closely with Risk and Compliance stakeholders and represent the user in discussions around policy implementations and regulatory frameworks
  • Lead data and engineering teams to improve financial integrity through better signals, models, and data pipelines
  • Work cross-functionally across product, finance, and operations to align risk mitigation with customer experience and product velocity

What you will need

  • 5+ years of product management, operations, and / or founding experience
  • 3+ years working in payments or fintech, or otherwise working in decisioning systems, data pipelines, or general platform capabilities that directly affect user experiences.
  • Ability to understand credit risk, fraud risk, AML policies, and financial controls
  • Self-starter with a bias towards action and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work on multiple products and features at once, across teams
  • Thrives in understanding complexity and transforming it into simple user experiences
  • Deep technical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication & organizational skills

    A variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation–including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

    The pay range for this role is :

    144,000 - 252,000 USD per year(US Tier 1)
