American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position requiring BLS and NRP certifications, with every other weekend coverage.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an 8-bed Level III NICU within an acute care settingCommon patient population includes infants 30 weeks gestation and abovePatient conditions may require stabilization and transfer for younger infantsNurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 4 based on acuityUtilizes Epic EMR systemShifts are 12 hours, with both day (0630-1900) and night (1830-0700) optionsEvery other weekend coverage requiredFloating to postpartum unit may be requiredUse of titratable drips such as ampicillin, gentamicin, caffeine, TPN, and lipidsEquipment includes nasal cannula, vents, and other respiratory support devicesCharge nurse present on each shiftSupport staff include one OB tech per floor, PRN nurse aides, and a second techPrimary duties include providing critical care to neonatal patients and titrating specialized dripsMust demonstrate strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation providedHoliday coverage may be required based on unit needsScrub attire must meet unit guidelinesReturning employees must not have worked at a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past yearFirst time travelers will be considered for this position\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license required at time of submissionMinimum 1 year of recent NICU RN experienceCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredAbility to titrate drips and experience with neonatal critical care equipmentEpic charting system experience preferredMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license used for verificationCandidates may not have current full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilitiesSuccessful completion of an open book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted per 13 week contract, must be submitted upfrontTwo professional references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
