Position Summary : We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent critical care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. The ICU RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and laboratory results.
Administer medications, manage IV infusions, and operate critical care equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to implement and coordinate patient care.
Respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, utilizing ACLS protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families during critical care situations.
Uphold infection control and patient safety standards at all times.
Required Qualifications
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
At least 2 years of critical care or telemetry experience required.
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.
