Employment Type : Exempt, Hybrid

Salary Range : $95,000- $122,000.

Directly assists and supervises staff in the performance of all expense, fixed asset, and cash accounting activities, accounts payable processing, analysis of financial data, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Performs highly complex accounting activities, analyzes financial data and prepares accounting reports. Ensures compliance with Bancroft policies and procedures as well as state and federal fiscal management laws and regulations. Directly supervises all Accounts Payable activities for the organization in accordance with Bancroft policies and procedures. Continuously identifies and facilitates process improvements.

Responsibilities

Manages the daily operations of the expense accounting, expense budgeting / forecasting, cash management and debt management. Oversees recording and reporting processes including the condition of the organization's books and records, compliance with internal controls, management of internal and external auditing processes and the formulation of financial statements and reports for Bancroft and its subsidiaries.

Independently reviews, monitors and analyzes expense data and accounts :

• Reviews and analyzes monthly expense accounts to ensure that expenses are properly recorded in the general ledger. Prepares journal entries with supporting documentation to appropriately adjust accounts. Generates monthly general ledger expense reports detailing expenses incurred by each program. Performs analysis of actual to budgeted / forecasted results and assists the Director of Accounting and Corporate Controller in investigating and explaining significant variances.
• Completes the month-end closing process in accordance with the established closing schedule approved by the Chief Financial Officer and / or designee. Generates month-end and year-end financial statements as well as various related detailed reports.
• Manages the complete and timely analysis / reconciliation of monthly balance sheet accounts. Ensures that balances adequately reflect the value of assets and liabilities in accordance with established audit controls.

Assists with cash management :

Manages and maintains the accounting software, including :

Serves as financial liaison for assigned service line(s) by facilitating the exchange of financial information and communication between Accounting and Service Line(s). This includes, but is not limited to, revenue analysis, expense variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting and general support.

Reports on the financial condition of the organization by reviewing statements with the Corporate Controller and providing analytics and information for management discussion and analysis. Disseminates external financial reports to Bancroft's executive team in accordance with established timeframes and following the approval of the CFO.

Assists with the annual budget process for the organization in compliance with local, state and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

Qualifications

In addition to the necessary skills and experience to perform the responsibilities outlined above, there are a number of traits that a qualified candidate will possess.

BS in Accounting required with a minimum of ten years of experience in the accounting field, two of which are in internal auditing or with a public accounting firm. Minimum of five years of supervisory / management experience required. CPA preferred.

A solid knowledge base of accounting issues, financial recordkeeping procedures, laws, regulations and standards, particularly as they relate to healthcare enterprises required. Proven ability to develop and implement effective fiscal management policies and financial controls, as well as proven ability to interpret audit information and to institute financial policy, procedure and / or operational corrections and modifications required. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, presentation, project management and organizational skills required. Effective and proven leadership and management skills required, as well as flexibility and adaptability.
