Description :
The Registered Nurse will work in a progressive care unit specializing in surgery trauma.
The patient population includes individuals who have experienced trauma, such as gunshot wounds, stabbings, and motor vehicle crashes.
Patients may present with rib fractures, major organ lacerations, contusions, and neurological injuries.
The unit accommodates emergency general surgery patients who require urgent abdominal surgeries.
There is an interdisciplinary support team available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The average daily census on the unit is 28 patients, with a capacity of 30 beds.
Nurses will be required to float within their scope of practice if necessary.
Candidates should be prepared to work holidays and weekends as needed.
A BSN is preferred, and candidates must be licensed in a compact state.
Compliance with background checks is required.
Additional training modules may be assigned during orientation, which must be completed in a timely manner.
