SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE :
The Preconstruction Manager will lead and oversee all preconstruction activities for data center construction projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, budget constraints, and project timelines. This role involves strategic planning, cost estimation, design coordination, and stakeholder management to set the foundation for successful project execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement comprehensive preconstruction strategies that align with organizational objectives and project goals.
- Cost Estimation : Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates based on conceptual designs, schematic drawings, and specifications to support project budgeting and financial planning.
- Design Coordination : Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to review and refine design documents, ensuring constructability and alignment with project requirements.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks during the preconstruction phase and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Stakeholder Communication : Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, clients, and external partners, providing regular updates on preconstruction progress and addressing any concerns.
- Vendor Management : Oversee the selection and negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that terms are favorable and align with project objectives.
- Quality Assurance : Implement quality control processes during the preconstruction phase to ensure that all plans and designs meet the highest standards.
- Team Leadership : Lead and mentor the preconstruction team, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring professional development opportunities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing preconstruction activities for data center or mission-critical facilities.Technical Skills : Proficiency in construction cost estimating software (e.g., RS Means, Timberline, WinEst) and Microsoft Office Suite.Leadership Skills : Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management, conflict resolution, and fostering a collaborative work environment.Certifications : Professional certifications such as LEED accreditation or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
