We’re looking for an

experienced operating room Surgical Technologist

Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice

Assists surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures in the operating room.

Prepares the operating room for surgery by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment

Sets up and operates a variety of specialized instrumentation, manual and powered equipment.

Follows procedures for pre and post-operative accounting of sharps, sponges and instruments used in the surgical set up. Accountable for the care and handling of instruments and equipment.

Maintains inventory of sterile surgical supplies to ensure immediate availability and operates sterilization equipment for the proper sterilization of surgical instruments. Follows established sterilization policy and procedures.

reports significant observations to the appropriate member of the medical team for immediate attention.

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the principles of sterile technique and infection control

Prepares tissue and other specimens for laboratory analyses.

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.

Colorectal, GYN, Neuro, ENT, General Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Procedures, Robotics, Thoracic and Vascular.

At Emory University Hospital Midtown our Perioperative Surgical Department consist of 28 OR suites with 3 to 4 designated for cardiovascular cases. Our service lines include General, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, ENT, Skull Base, OMFS, Plastics, and CVOR. There can be some late, on call and / or holiday requirements as well as a rotation to cover overnight shifts and weekend shifts for those dedicated teams.
