Prototyping R&D Engineer

Overview

GonioTech LLC is a rapidly growing startup based in the Rev1 incubator space on Kinnear Road in Columbus, Ohio. The company was founded by three faculty members and a Ph.D. graduate from The Ohio State University to commercialize cutting-edge academic research. Currently a team of five, we are expanding significantly to support our federally funded efforts in next-generation microwave electronics.

Our mission is to design, fabricate, and test high-performance, research-grade non-reciprocal microwave devices based on a novel class of materials known as goniopolar materials . These efforts are supported by a fully equipped on-site laboratory and strong collaborative ties with university research groups.

We are seeking a hands-on R&D Engineer with demonstrated laboratory experience in prototype fabrication and electrical measurements . Ideal candidates will have a postgraduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or materials science, though candidates with a B.S. and exceptional experience will also be considered.

Required Qualifications

• Laboratory experience assembling and testing physical prototypes of electronic or electromechanical devices
• Familiarity with benchtop electrical measurement tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs)
• Experience or aptitude with simulation software, especially in electromagnetics or microwave engineering
• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-motivated, experimental mindset
