Responsible for the delivery of products to recipients courteously and efficiently.

Major Job Responsibilities :

• Delivers pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment in safe, accountable manner.
• Picks up sharps containers and disposes of biohazardous wastes according to established infection control procedures.
• Visually inspects assigned vehicle daily for obvious maintenance problems.
• Maintains assigned vehicle in clean and orderly condition.
• Ensures that routine mechanical maintenance is performed on assigned vehicle.
• Maintains current driver's license and current automobile insurance.
• Participates in weekly and monthly on call schedule.
• Handles customer complaints patiently and in a fair and empathetic manner.
• Uses safe lifting techniques in loading and unloading equipment.
• Accurately pull, package and ship medical supplies.
• Coordinates time sensitive deliveries.
• Maintains a positive relationship with both Duke employed and contracted couriers.
• May be required to perform various general warehousing duties.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Requirements :

Education and Formal Training : Work requires the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions generally acquired through a partial high school education.

Licensures, Certifications : A valid North Carolina driver's license must be maintained with a good driving record free of restrictions.

Professional Work Experience : Work requires six months of delivery experience or customer service.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : May be required to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
