Overview of the Accountant II Role :

The Accountant II plays a key role in supporting financial operations by maintaining accurate ledgers, reconciling complex transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits and budgets. This position encompasses payroll, billing, accounts payable / receivable, taxes, permits, and collections, ensuring compliance with internal controls and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities of the Accountant II Role :

Maintain general, revenue, and expenditure ledgers; reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies

Prepare journal entries, invoices, and weekly check runs to ensure accurate, timely payments

Compile and analyze financial data to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; assist with budget preparation and fiscal year-end audits

Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies on financial matters, providing schedules and supporting documentation as needed

Audit accounting systems and procedures for compliance with internal controls and policies

Assist Finance Director with special projects, problem-solving, and the development of policies or procedures

Preferred Qualifications of the Accountant II Role :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
