Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Urology unit night shift position requiring high-acuity experience and an active AL or compact license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Medical Surgical Urology unit
  • Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • Typical patient ratio is 1 : 6 to 1 : 7 with high acuity patients
  • Proficient management of insulin and heparin drips is required
  • Block booking available except during holidays
  • Weekend shifts are required
  • Floating is not specified
  • Orientation sessions occur every other Monday
  • Main duties include caring for urology and high-acuity Med / Surg patients
  • Experience in large healthcare facilities preferred
  • First-time travelers accepted if highly experienced
  • Navy scrubs or navy pants with white top required
  • Orientation and modules are required before start
  • Hard compliance deadline is one week prior to contract start

    • Requirements

  • Active AL or compact RN license in good standing
  • 1-2 years recent Med / Surg experience with strong high-acuity background
  • Experience with insulin and heparin drips required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
  • COVID-19 vaccination or documented religious / medical exemption required
  • Flu vaccination or documented religious / medical exemption required
  • Must provide two professional references for consideration
  • 90 mile radius living requirement for eligibility
