Who we are looking for : ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector who has a knack for cars and wants to join a growing company. Inspectors are the face of our company, know a ton about cars, and explain to clients what they need to know in a way they can understand. They are meticulous, ensuring nothing gets by them, and embody Trust, Transparency, Credibility, and Customer Service in daily interactions.
What you will do
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Partner with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease locations to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems.
- Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair / replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
- Help the sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
- Interface regularly with dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships.
- Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports, listing vehicles to sell on the auction platform.
- Take multiple photos (overall and damage) and match them to a vehicle, then upload them to the image server using the company-issued smartphone.
- List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
- Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions digital platform.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need
1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with a customer service background.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time.Problem-solving aptitude with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.Valid driver's license and a registered and insured motor vehicle.Knowledge of system capabilities, relevant software packages, and web-based applications.Ability to perform manual labor, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.Vision abilities required to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.Seniority level
