• Cath Lab Experience - Required
• Interventional Radiology experience - Highly Preferred
• 1+ Years of experience in Electrophysiology - Highly Preferred
• Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation - Highly Preferred
• Knowledge of operation of intraaortic balloon pump - Highly Preferred

License :

State License in Michigan

Certifications :

ACLS (AHA)

BLS (AHA)

Must-Have :

Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty

2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years

Description :

This position cares for patients before, during, and after angiography and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of the cath process, post-cath care, and patient education.

The nurse scrubs in for procedures and assists other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

The role involves performing nursing care of the catheterization / angiography patient.

The nurse operates specialized equipment such as cardiac output monitors, hemodynamic systems, pacemakers, ICDs, and intraaortic balloon pumps.

Responsibilities also include transferring patients, stocking supplies, and performing basic office procedures.

The nurse records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.

The expectation is that the nurse may also help cover and provide nursing support for interventional radiology procedures and pre / post procedure care.
