Budget Director For The Office Of Early Childhood Operations
This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA. This role serves as the Budget Director for the entire Office of Early Childhood division. It is responsible for managing its multi-million dollar budget, ensuring legal and fiscal compliance, mitigating financial risk, and providing the strategic financial vision required to support early learning and development programs. Applicants with the following experience are encouraged to apply : Experience with LDE fiscal systems : eGMS, LaGov, Metastorm Experience as a budget manager working with contracts and budget reconciliation involving local, state, and federal funds. Experience analyzing, documenting, and escalating risks and issues identified during the day-to-day management of funding as well as providing mitigation strategies.
Minimum Qualifications :
Seven years of experience in administrative services; public health, social services, or health services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Appointment Type : Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression : This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Work Schedule : Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined. Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Note regarding the advertised pay range : The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
